I am a Westcountry Lighting Cameraman with over 20 years experience of working in the Television industry.
Having completed a Communications degree at University, I moved to London in 1997 to pursue a career in film-making. Having worked as a Runner in Soho, I started my technical training at The Picture Canning Company in 1998. I spent two years working at PCC, during which time I worked in-house and out on location. While I worked in the hire department, I expanded my technical knowledge of camera, sound and lighting equipment. On location, I honed my programme making skills, whilst working with television crews as a camera assistant.
In the summer of 2000, I took my first freelance job on an Italian language series for the BBC. This job launched my business – I worked first as a camera assistant, and then as a Lighting Cameraman. In 2008, my wife and I moved from SW London to Exeter, where I successfully set myself up as a Westcountry Lighting Cameraman, working locally, nationally and internationally.
During my career, I have worked on an enormous variety of Film, Television, Broadcast and Online filming projects. I have been lucky enough to stay busy, travel extensively and work with a lot of memorable characters!
